Did anyone else watch the super gay episode of 30 Rock last night with guest star Margaret Cho as Kim Jong-il? WTF? The show started off with the lovely Tina Fey (Liz Lemon) proclaiming her new life philosophy to Alec Baldwin (Jack Donaghy.)
Liz: Great news Jack! I’ve got a new life philosophy that I call Lizbeanism.
Jack: I see, and how did you come up with that name?
Liz: Well, I’m Liz and obviously my philosophy is simple like a bean. Lizbeanism means I’m a dyke (gulp) against the rising waters of mediocrity.
How do I convert to Lizbeanism? Or is one born a Lizbean?
If you love Fey as much as I do (no one does) check her out when she hosts Saturday Night Live for the third time on May 7, with musical guest Ellie Goulding.
Have you guys heard about The Glee Project? (If you have, then I’m slow.) The Glee Project is Oxygen’s new reality series where 12 contestants compete for a seven-episode arc on Glee‘s third season. Ryan Murphy (Glee co-creator) said if a male were selected then the role would likely become a love interest for Amber Riley’s character, Mercedes. And if a female is selected she will portray Jane Lynch’s love interest. OK, I made that last part up.
The series will be composed of ten episodes in which the Glee creators will challenge the competitors’ singing, dancing, and acting abilities. The winner will be selected by Murphy, casting director Robert Ulrich, and choreographer/co-producer Zach Woodlee.
Some of the 12 competitors were discovered via MySpace videos. Come on, ladies, update your MySpace videos! (I don’t even remember my MySpace login information.) The Glee Project begins June 12. Will you tune in?
Pretty Little Liars actress Shay Mitchell is joining in on all the Royal Wedding festivities. This morning she tweeted a photo of herself posing with the royal newlyweds.
Lady Gaga gave the UK talk show Daybreak a behind the scenes look at her newest music video for “Judas.” In the interview Gaga explains what she’s dealing with in her new track: “I’m struggling between my virtue and my demons throughout the song.” She also said that in the song she is talking to herself about her faith. If Gaga is talking to herself, maybe she should seek professional help. Gaga could probably afford to hire a different therapist to match each one of her outfits.
The Daily Beast editor Kate Aurthur tweeted her two cents on the Natalie Portman/Black Swan dancing controversy.
Prom is in the air! High school students all over the country are all getting ready to load up in a limousine, guzzle too much Jägermeister and shake their booties to Katy Perry‘s “Firework.” (I can’t get that damn song out of my head). Disney’s teen-flick Prom hit theaters today and Seventeen magazine has listed their choices for “perfect prom dress.” But what about the queer chicks that don’t want to wear dresses or their brother’s oversize suit? Check out DapperQ‘s guide to androgynous formal wear. (I also like the fitted men’s jackets from H&M and Ben Sherman.)

I recently learned of a hot new monthly lesbian event, “Mugshot.” Tonight from 9:30 PM to 2 AM, head to The Down ‘n’ Out Bar in Los Angeles and enjoy a “Queer. Dance. Party.” with live performances by Sister Mantos, go-go dancers, giveaways and an “arresting” photo booth. What? Awesome!

New England-based and lesbian-owned Kada Films is prepping for its first feature, Life Abstract. The film stars Deak Evgenikos (Itty Bitty Titty Committee, The Owls) and is “a lesbian love story that will highlight the therapeutic process of art therapy as a healing and life enhancing practice.”
The producers have launched their own Kickstarter page and hope to raise $100,000 for the production that is slated to begin in July. (Umm, can I borrow a hundred bucks?) The producers plan to donate a percentage of the profits to AIDS United, The Worcester LGBT Asylum Task Force and The American Art Therapy Association.
