Afternoon Delight: Ellen Page on being a “sexual predator” in “Super,” Gaga wants a part on “Modern Family”
Natalie Portman finally opened her beak (get it?) when E! asked about the dancing controversy surrounding Black Swan.
I think Portman’s response, or lack thereof, was quite classy. I don’t care if Portman danced or didn’t dance in the film. She is a great actress and that’s all that matters.
Wanda Sykes Tweeted at her fellow comedian Ellen DeGeneres and asked for a loan.
If DeGeneres is loaning things out, I wonder if I could borrow one of her Emmys? I just want to take a picture with the golden statue and send it to my mom so she will finally get off my back. See Mom, studying drama in college was a good decision!
Last night Ellen Page sat down with Craig Ferguson for a late night interview and freaked him out when describing her super hero character in new film, Super. Page explained that her character is, “a bit of a psychopath, and a little bit of a sexual predator.” “I don’t think I want to see this film,” Ferguson quipped. Now I really do want to see the movie.
Yesterday, Modern Family’s Jesse Tyler Ferguson stopped by Live! With Regis & Kelly and chit-chatted about Lady Gaga. Kelly Ripa asked, “Would she do a Modern Family?!” Ferguson responded that Gaga has reached out to the show asking to get involved in some way, although no official plans for the singer to appear have been made as of yet. If Gaga stops by the Modern Family set she should play Sofia Vergara‘s obsessive ex-girlfriend who insists on motor-boating Vergara in every scene.
In more Gaga news, the songstress announced that she would donate a portion of the sales from her new song “Born This Way — Country Road Version” to the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). The track will be available on iTunes.
And speaking of “Born This Way” a Fox insider told TV Line that Glee‘s Gaga-inspired April 26 episode has been expanded to 90 minutes. Wow, that’s a lot of Glee!
ABC’s legal analyst Dan Abrams recently promoted his book, Man Down: Proof Beyond a Reasonable Doubt That Women Are Better Cops, Drivers, Gamblers, Spies, World Leaders, Beer Tasters, Hedge Fund Managers, and Just About Everything Else, on Good Morning America. Abrams, who is a man, says he found research proving that women are less likely to be struck by lighting (82 percent less than men because we don’t play as much golf and we’re less reckless). Abrams obviously hasn’t been to the Dinah Shore weekend.
Abrams also said, “Women are smarter and healthier. Higher tolerance for pain, wash their hands more often after using the bathroom, appreciate a joke better, avoid Internet fraud more carefully. They live longer. And it’s not true that they’re bad drivers.”
As far as not making as much money as men, Adams blames society for not catching up to the studies. Hurry up, society! I need a new car!
Slash Film reports that China has banned all time-traveling movies. China’s General Bureau of Radio, Film and Television stated that time-travel plots in movies and TV are disrespectful to history and should be banished. The ruling took place on April 1. Please tell me that this an April Fool’s Day joke. Either way, I’m not worried about this news because The Time Traveling Lesbian‘s Rebecca Drysdale is probably on it! I’m hoping that Drysdale is currently traveling back in time to the morning of April 1 to make sure the ban never happens.
