Morning Brew – Tuesday, March 29: Rosie O’Donnell takes over Oprah’s studio, The Sounds on Jimmy Kimmel

Rosie O’Donnell is moving into Oprah’s Chicago-based Harpo Studios for her new nationally-syndicated talk show, starting this fall. She’ll be working with some of Oprah’s staff, and said in a video message:

Hello people of Harpo, it’s me, Rosie O’Donnell, star of The Flintstones. I just wanted to say: Hi, I’m coming to Chicago. Yes, I am, and I’m thrilled about it. And I get to work with all of you, who have created magnificent television for two decades-plus.

Rosie, I thought you were coming to Chicago to visit me.

The Sounds‘ new album, Something to Die For, comes out today, and I highly recommend it. They performed the title track last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Somehow got ahold of Lindsay Lohan and asked about the mysterious brunette that was seen kissing Samantha Ronson. Lindsay told Radar of the woman: “She’s a friend of mine as well” and added that she was sitting next to Samantha while she was on the phone with them. The site also reported that the woman’s name is Tiffany Russo and she’s a yoga instructor who used to bartend at the Roosevelt Hotel, where Sam and Lilo used to frequent while together. The plot thickens!

UK Skins writer Jack Thorne is behind a new BBC3 series called The Fades and guess who is his star? Lily Loveless. The drama is described as “Freaks & Geeks meets Ghostbusters” and is in production now.

Lily, snuggled up with the cast of her new show

Do you watch Crystal Chappell on Days of Our Lives? Then you might want to check out this interview, where she discusses her character and what’s coming up for her. (Nothing lesbian.)

Is Bravo using Fernanda Rocha for titillation on this season of Real Housewives of Orange County? Before you answer, consider the video below is titled “Tamra Barney Naked With a Lesbian.”

You can bet I’ll be asking Fernanda about this at the Dinah.

Shay Mitchell shared her beauty essentials with Teen Vogue, but also said why she’s so glad to play Emily on Pretty Little Liars.

There are so many shows and movies where the lesbian character is either glorified or portrayed as an outcast. I get a lot of tweets from fans who relate to Emily and realize that they can just be themselves.

See? She’s reading your tweets! You can also find out that she loves “sparkly manicures” and “bouncy Barbie hair.”

Katy Perry‘s mom is writing a book and some of it has to do with how she feels about her daughter’s career choices. An excerpt:

I recognized the psalmist gift in her performance. Yet she sang out, “I kissed a girl, and I liked it,” while thousands joined her. One part of my heart soared . . . the other part broke for the thousands of hungry souls being fed something that didn’t nourish their spirit, but fed their flesh.

Was your flesh fed? Mine wasn’t. I want my money back!

Check out some pics of Rooney Mara on the set of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. She sure has that menacing look down.
