Morning Brew – Tuesday, November 2: Sia wants to write songs for Beyonce, Gilli Shem Tov practices her lesbian two-step

Good morning! If you’re of age in the US, get out there and vote today.

Out Israeli TV personality Gilli Shem Tov and her Dancing With the Stars partner, Dorit Milman, are working hard for their upcoming debut. Check out this videos of them practicing routines.

Thanks to Michal for the clip!

On last night’s episode of The A-List, Reichen’s sister Kayli is in town to visit. It turns out Kalyi is a lesbian, but she won’t come out to their parents because she sees how they feel about Reichen’s sexuality. You can watch their conversation around 13 minutes in.

If you are skeptical of books like Simon Lavay’s Gay, Straight and the Reason Why, rest assured he’s not trying to prove you can be made straight with science. In fact, he tells Salon.com, “Parents should be blessed to have gay kids.”

In this month’s Vanity Fair, Cher talks about Chaz Bono’s transition. An excerpt:

“If I woke up tomorrow in a guy’s body, I would just kick and scream and cry and f–king rob a bank, because I cannot see myself as anything but who I am-a girl. I would not take it as well as Chaz has. I couldn’t imagine it. … She’s a very smart girl – boy! This is where I get into trouble. My pronouns are f–ked. I still don’t remember to call her ‘him.'”

At least she’s trying! Do you think she’s a member of PFLAG?

This could be bad news for Sons of Anarchy fans. Ally Walker, who plays lesbian agent June Stahl, has been cast in a new Lifetime series called Exit 19. Good for Ally, but we’re hoping Stahl sticks around SOA.

It’s that time of year again – Out Magazine has released their Out 100. They’re only releasing a few at a time, however, so as of today, we know Lisa Cholodenko, Chely Wright, Sia and Scissor Sisters are on the list. The good news is that Katy Perry isn’t allowed to be on the list two years in a row.

In something a little more interesting, however, they have followed up with a few past honorees to find out what they’re up to. Sophie B Hawkins says she’s composed for a new Broadway musical that will star Kristin Chenoweth. Meshell Ngdeocello said she is inspired by JD Samson’s musical group MEN. And Sandra Bernhard never tires of being asked about Roseanne. Good, because I loved Nancy’s wardrobe.

Sia has written songs for Christina Aguilera and has Pink and Britney Spears vying to sing some of her newly penned tracks, but the Aussie bisexual singer/songwriter wants Beyonce.

She’s my queen. Now that I’ve written for Christina, and I hope I keep writing for her because she’s a f–king powerhouse, but Beyonce is my queen.

What a wonderful collaboration that could be. “Telephone” version 2.0, starring Sia alongside Gaga and Queen B.

On TV today: The Ellen DeGeneres Show (check local listings), The Talk (CBS 2 p.m.), MSNBC Election Day Coverage with Rachel Maddow (MSNBC 6 p.m.), Stargate: Universe (Syfy 9 p.m.) and a re-run of Lincoln Heights (TV One 7 p.m.). (Thanks Roni!)

Chew on all that and check back later. XO!
