In her latest video for AfterEllen TV on YouTube, singer/model Keeana Kee takes us with her on a photo shoot for NOH8. If you’re not familiar with NOH8 (but you probably are) it is a grassroots charitable organization that fights for gay rights around the world, and has expanded since 2008 to include more than 55,000 faces taking part in the campaign. From the NOH8 website:
The NOH8 Campaign is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with “NOH8” painted on one cheek in protest.
While we have won marriage equality here in the US, NOH8 continues to be a voice for those who still live in fear around the world, promoting love and acceptance. The campaign has reached 20 countries to date.
We are honored to have Keeana Kee model for their cause and share the experience with AfterEllen. Plus, there were puppies!
