Morning Brew – Michelle Rodriguez and Amber Heard get into it in “Machete Kills”

Good morning! In case you’re wondering what Felicia Day does in her free time…

I have my Vaginal Fantasy book club, where we’re always reading genre romance novels. This month we’re doing Tipping the Velvet, which is an amazing lesbian Victorian historical novel.

Lauren Flax of Creep gives a great tutorial on how to achieve her topknot. She wants you to channel your inner unicorn like she does. The producers behind Blue is the Warmest Color will not be eligible for the Oscar race this year, despite its great chances at winning Best Foreign Film. The reason? It’ll be released in theaters just after the due date. Films can only be considered for this year’s Oscars if they are released before September, where Blue opens in October. Le sigh. EW has a clip of Michelle Rodriguez in Machete Kills and she’s fighting Amber Heard while saying “It takes a bitch to make a bitch and I smell fish taco.” SPEAKING OF OSCARS, AMIRITE? Last night at the ESPYS, Abby Wambach walked the red carpet with Sarah Huffman. She later Tweeted how glad she was to have been there with her. Also at the ESPYS, Jason Sudekis admits something we all know to be true about his wife-to-be Olivia Wilde. After joking he is “more female than athlete,” which doesn’t make sense to me but whatevs, Jason responded:

Oh yea, yea, she knows. And she’s cool with it. She’s fine with it. She’s made out with more chicks than I have.

Need a lawyer? Visit lgbtbar.org, where they just named the Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40. I’m sure the other members over 40 are just as good. CocoRosie have released a new video for their song “Child Bride,” which they describe as “an intimate and powerful statement of a video, exploring themes of feminism, sexism, child abuse, human rights and gender inequalities.”
