Afternoon Delight: Angelina Jolie drafts the Coen Brothers for “Unbroken,” Tracy Ryerson in “Kiss Her I’m Famous”

Good afternoon and happy birthday to Jane Wagner!

Angelina Jolie is joining forces with the Coen Brothers. The award-winning siblings will pen the screenplay for Jolie’s next directing project Unbroken, adapted from Laura Hillenbrand‘s non-fiction bestseller of the same name.

Marlee Matlin (The L Word) is featured as one of the “16 Icons” in The Hollywood Reporter Oscar Issue.

Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence has dyed her hair jet black. Lawrence changed her look in preparation for reprising her role as Katniss Everdeen for some necessary Hunger Games: Catching Fire reshoots.  I can’t wait to see this film!

Speaking of Lawrence (and I promise I’ll take a hiatus from covering her for awhile), the below clip from Conan reveals what really caused Lawrence to trip at the Oscars.

Actress Rachel Griffiths has signed on for NBC’s comedy Camp. The series is “set at Little Hawk Family Camp, where parents decompress with gin while teens take mischief and fall in and out of love. Griffiths will play Mackenzie, the camp’s relentlessly upbeat director.”

Janet Montgomery (Black SwanMade in Jersey) has been cast in ABC’s mega-series Gothica. Montgomery will play Lady Grace Van Helsing in the “sexy gothic soap set in the present that weaves together a mythology that incorporates the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray.”

A slew of A-list celebrities star in this hot mess of a movie trailer Movie: The Movie: 2V via Jimmy Kimmel Live. Fast forward to the 5:30 mark to see Salma Hayek profess her love for herself.

Chaz Bono will guest star on ABC Family’s The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Bono will play himself in the show’s season premier on March 18.

Tracy Ryerson (The Real L Word) stars in the “Hey, let’s make a sex-tape and be famous!” series Kiss Her I’m Famous. The show will be exclusively shown on Tellofilms.com. (Do not try this at home)

If you speak French (I don’t) take a gander at the below clip from the French series Tiger Lily. In the video, which features queer couple Muriel and Anne, Muriel interviews a conservative anti-gay guest on her tv show and then gives her the business.(Thanks for the tip Maud Raval!)

Tonight, Erin Foley and I will be performing for “Drunk on Stage” at Akbar (4356 W Sunset Blvd) in Silverlake, CA. Admission is $5 cash and show starts at 8 pm.

On Saturday, March 2 out comedian Sandra Bernhard will be taking the stage at the Howard Theatre in Washington, DC.
