The team behind The Real L Word are revving up for a Real L Word documentary. The producers are currently casting and looking for “lesbians with important and compelling stories to tell for a documentary-approach to lesbian life beyond the city lights. Melanie Lynskey (Heavenly Creatures) has been cast in the HBO comedy TogethernessThe show revolves around “two different couples who are living together and are each trying to keep their relationships going while still working toward their own individual goals and dreams.”  Lynskey will play a “sweet-natured, hard-working, full-time mom, a wife and the mother of two children, whose marriage is dying on its feet as she yearns for a more fulfilling life.” I’m only watching this show if Kate Winslet guest-stars.

Dame Helen Mirren will return to the stage as Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience. If you’re not lucky enough to nab a ticket to the show on June 13 there will be a live broadcast from London’s West End to movie theaters around the world.

The Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center will host Michele Balan: Live in L.A. at the Renberg Theatre (1125 N. McCadden) in Hollywood, CA. The two-night comedy event will be held on March 9 at 8 pm and Sunday, March 10 at 7 pm.
