Cat Cafe Offers NYC Lesbian Mecca

This weekend through Sunday in New York City you can experience lesbian paradise. The nation’s first cat café has opened a pop up shop downtown at 168 Bowery Street, where you can stop by for a coffee and pastry, and some kitty time-not to mention the highly probable chance that a single lesbian could find her future wife at such an undeniably high-density lesbian homing beacon site. Purina ONE’s Cat Café is opened from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m/ through this weekend. The temp resident cats are up for adoption through the North Shore Animal League. Cat cafés already exist in places like France and Japan; there is no word on whether this café, the first in North America, will pop up for a longer duration in the near future.

Intrepid Buzzfeed reporters Chelsea, Lindsey, and Sami reported from the scene:

Can’t make it to NYC? There’s a livestream for your viewing entertainment!

There is no word on whether this café, the first in North America, will pop up for a longer duration in the near future. If a permanent location is in the works, café owners might decide to capitalize upon the lesbian feline market by selling kitch rainbow kitty items, or by offering patrons a kitty-themed library from which to read books like the new “Cat Canyon,” which celebrates gender diversity, while sipping on cat-shaped foam lattes.”
