curses!

i really think this game looks cool, but they didn't release it on pc so i am waiting for that to happen, if ever :(

the last few games released this year that i really liked have all excluded the pc gamers, is this going to be a trend?

Here's some Star Wars trivia

Here's some Star Wars trivia for you.  You guys were talking about why not just call "Starkiller" John or something.  You have to be careful about names because apparently there was a Jedi Apprendice in the Star Wars comic books named Soon Baytes that got past the editors.  The name was pretty tame, but the storyline was going to end with Soon Baytes turning into a master Jedi, so having a jedi called Master Baytes would have been a problem.  They killed off the character in the comic book before he could get to Master level.

Ok, I'm now done revealing my true Geek status.

I have the Nintendo Wii, but I think I'd rather play this game on a different console.  I'm going to get a PS3 (after I reach my goal weight using the Wii Fit [15 more pounds to go]) so I'll probably wait until then to play this title (or until two womderful women happen to give me a copy of the game on PS3 that they happen to have multiple copies of *wink wink*).

Starkiller

I believe that Starkiller was originally going to be Luke Skywalker's name, so that's why they used it.

Awesome Star Wars intro!!

WOW!  This episode's intro was quite the event. Too funny. "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" looks wicked cool.  But I can understand the frustration with too many button combos for fighting moves. I guess that makes me an Angela gamer.   Sorry Tracy.  ; )

I still don't have "Spore".  But soon, soon.  ok, I have spore.  I haven't played it  yet. I am still gobsmacked that in the time I went to the store, bought the game  and got home, the DOW had effin' dropped another 700 pts. the Libor is still at an all time high. Wonder if someone can design a game around free for all?  Oh yeah, its been done. play on.

That Tryst at lesbiangamers.com turned out very hawt!  Many thanks to Amanda the artiste.

Edited to add that I now have Spore uploaded, and it itches like crazy.

Awesome vlog!

I agree with spotticus! Amazing Star Wars intro! After watching your vlog, I'm no longer on the fence about buying "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed." Thanks for covering it today.

I haven't finished the game

I haven't finished the game yet but I was excited when Vader named Galen "Starkiller" because I thought it was a reference to the early drafts of A New Hope. There was a character named Starkiller who died within the first act, basically he was one of the last Jedis fighting with the rebels against the empire. I think, lol. I'm not sure why I know all this, but I do. ^_^ The game is fun though. The gamplay is annoying but the story makes it worthwhile, I really want to see where it's going.

Force Unleashed

I rented this game last week and then after I had to return it, I went out and bought it.  Kind of threw my October gaming budget off, since I have Fable on pre-order, but it was very much worth it. November isn't a good month either, but I guess my burrito and comic budgets can get slashed. (I got bored one night and set up a database to track my spending, it's so much fun and I made a ton of macros for it)

The last game that I purchased after returning a rented copy of was Okami for the Wii (FTW lulz)

So far, I've been able to make it through without having to use too many of the moves. I'm a lazy gamer when it comes to memorizing move lists.

You guys sold me

First I pre-ordered Fallout 3, the only game I have ever pre-ordered! But I loved 1 and 2 and just replayed them so I had to do it. Now I ordered Stars Wars The Force Unleashed.

I wasn't going to as there are just too many good games coming out for my buget BUT after your review jeeez my fingers just lept to the Amazon url of thier own accord...is that the Force? The Force of Tracy and Angela I'd say! Another game for my PS3, that's 6 now.

I just promised my partner I would go easy on the games because of the economic meltdown...eh I guess I start that tomarrow. I do plan to go easy for awhile but its hard because right now there are alot of good games coming up...guess some can wait.

Scrolling letters turn bad to good

I would like to say thank you, because this vlog has turned my not so good, bad, spiraling downward day into a huge laugh.

I think the entire last ten minutes I was giggling and then a snort came out. While I probably won't buy the game I will enjoy conjolling some of my friends into buying it for their XBOX 360 so I can watch the game.

The ratings... were fabulous.

So thank you again.

  Hi there! Long time no

Hi there! Long time no see!

I have to say, I'm shocked that you didn't mention the awesome casting of the main character: Samual Witner; AKA Crashdown from Battlestar Galactica!

... It could be just me who's excited about that, but I'm always happy when I see people from shows I love in other gigs.

Also, beacuse someone mentioned it above, are you guys going to be reviewing Fallout 3? 1 & 2 are two of my all time favourite games, so I would love to know if 3 is going to maintain the same awesome mix of humour, freedom, intertwined plot and gameplay.

Of course, I don't own anything that could actually play the game, but next term I should finally be making some money from my uni degree! After taking the 'rents out for a nice 'thanks for paying my way' dinner, all my paychecks will be going towards a suped-up laptop. And a xbox 360. And vodka.

wonderful as always

awesome star wars intro! Although I was hoping to see at least one of you ladies dressed up as Princess Leia.

Tracy, way to represent the united states with your south dakota shirt - but south dakota??? I need to get you ladies some matching "I Love Ohio" shirts.  I don't know that they make "I Love Ohio" t-shirts per se, but maybe I could just write it with a black marker on a sexy white tee for you.

loved your L Word ratings and the Sarah Palin humor - can't wait for your next vlog!

Smooches!

Not Ohio!

I was thinking Michigan would be a better shirt.... yep, "I love Michigan" would look MUCH better the South Dakota or Ohio. :)

thank you

I am still excited about this game, because I do enjoy Star Wars so much, an I did liek the Clone Wars, I do hope that I can struggle through the game.

may the force....

Great vlog ladies! The star wars intro just kicks ass!

Did you had the chance to try it out on the Wii? Just wondering about the game play, considering it's the only console i own. But being such a star wars geek, i've got to own this one :-P

And may the force be with you! ;-)

Wow

Absolutely awesome intro!

Nice Intro!

I'm with Tracy, I'm not a huge Star Wars fan. Well I'll be honest, and I know it's hard to believe, I've never actually seen a Star Wars movie so I suppose I haven't given it much of a chance.

I finally gave in the other day and bought a 360! (Anyone want to buy a Wii?) I bought GTA right away as I've played all the others, and I'm definitly enjoying it... I guess i'm a fan of beating hookers and stealing cars.

My roommate picked up Lara Croft. She seemed to get really frustrated by the game play, but in the games defense she's not really a gamer. I think she picked Lara Croft more for her... "assets" than anything else. On the other hand, the fact that shes not a gamer and played it for about 4 hours straight has to say something about the game.

Still not feeling the force

Firstly first - your vlog opening was incredible. Very creative, very funny, and very awesome. The force mojo was very much alive and happening around you both. Mad props to you for that one!

Force Unleashed does look really really good - but I still cannot see myself spending my hard earned dosh on a game with the major flaw of dodgy gameplay. Too many other games coming out to do that. Now putting it on my Christmas wishlist for Santa, that's a whole other story...

The best sorta kinda gaming rumour I heard this week was that Angelina Jolie might strap guns to her thighs again for a Tomb Raider Underworld movie based on the upcoming game! That and the announcement of TRU downloadable content for the Xbox 360 made it a super Tomb Raider-y week.

oh my god!

this vlog was awesome!!

i loved the begining sequence very clever girls! and when princess tracey of oregano game up i had unfortunatley just taken a mouthful of pop needless to say i'm now covered in the stuff... sooo funny!

on to the game... i was looking forward to this game but i wasn't reading all the hype so i was very happy when i played it. It looks amazing! and the story is so much better than i expected.  Downside for me is using the force, i've lost track of the number of times i've thought i was picking up something big and destructive to hurl at the enemy only to pick up a pebble! i know exactly what you mean tracey and angela.. very annoying!

overall tho i'm really enjoying the game, anything with starwars is going to be good and this is better than i expected.. but they could have made the camera better for using force

thanks for reviewing girls... the force will be with you... always

Awesome, once again

Excellent vlog again ladies. You manage to surprise me every week, and this week was no different with the intro.

I played (and am still playing) the game on the Wii (as I am too poor to get the 360 at this point), so I think my experience is a bit different. You use the controller like a lightsaber, and use the nunchuck for the force powers, including pushing it forward for the "force push" power.  Beyond the fact that now I have arms of steel from waving those two around madly it was pretty fun, and the controls were responsive enough to not make me think I was waving my arms around like an idiot.  I know that the graphics aren't as good as on the PS3 or the 360, but I thought the gameplay made up for it.

The camera angles drove me nuts, but overal I really enjoyed playing it, and the story so far is awesome.

Tracy: What's with the South Dakota shirt? That is the most random state to have a shirt from!

Angela: Since you hate leveling up, do you ever use cheat codes so you don't have to?

giselle's picture

It's on my list!

I love LoVe LOVE the intro.  Ladies, well done!  I thought Tracy was going to wear the Princess Leia hairdo.  Awww.  Payback for making Angela wear the Woody hat during the Western themed show :P

Just looking at the trailer makes the game look like a good movie!  I defintely will get it for the Wii!  I can't wait!

I agree no such things as girls/guys games

I love the sims and singstar but i rather play violent games any day.

I thought MGS4 was amazing, and although the cutscenes were a tad long and confusing, they brought the entire story from the previous games together. I only just completed MGS4 and am already excited about playing through it again to get the extras I missed (like killing the frogs and beasts non-lethally to get the dolls) and try to get less alerts and kills (when they give me cool guns I can’t help using them, it is too tempting). Obviously next time I play through it I shall be skipping the cutscenes. I liked all the references to the old games that were made in MGS4 that would be lost on anyone that hadn’t played the previous games.

As for star wars unleashed, looks pretty good though I am not in any rush to buy it when there are other games I am more interested in at the moment.
