Pop quiz time, lesbos! What are the two best things in this world?
If you answered Skins and Doctor Who, congratulations on your general awesomeness! If you did not answer Skins and Doctor Who, please proceed to the dungeon where you will sit in the dark and starve to death until you can sort out your priorities.
Now then, for those of you who answered correctly, I have got some serious news for you. Remember when Trish Bendix told us about the new BBC One drama Love Life, in which Billie Piper will play a teacher who falls for a female student? And remember how some of us were like, “I’ll follow Rose Tyler to the end of the universe!” And some of us were like, “Man, the student/teacher thing is so played. But I guess I’ll wait to see who’s playing the student before I pass judgement.”
Well, my darlings, we now know who’s playing the student. Are you ready for this? (You’re really not.) Rose Tyler’s love interest is — wait for it — Effy Stonem!
Hang on, that’s not right. Sorry. Billie Piper’s love interest is Kaya Scodelario!
I know, Katie F–king Fitch. I know. I was just as shocked as you are.
No, seriously, Katie, let go of her; she’s Billie Piper’s girl now.
Katie! I said let — no, you’re right. I don’t want to fight you. I’m Sorry.
The latest Love Life press release shakes it down like this:
Love Life will explore five powerful and overlapping love stories set in the same town. Each story looks at a different relationship and explores a different dilemma or situation. When it comes to love and relationships, there is never an easy “right answer” – telling the truth is complicated, and the conflict of desire and responsibility can be explosive.
Which is kind of silly. Making out with Billie Piper is always the right answer.
(Oh, and by the way, if Skins and Doctor Who really are your thing, please do yourself a favor and check this out. Start from the bottom.)
What do you think of the news that Kaya Scodelario is joining Love Life?
