We’re coming to America

womensbasketball.jpgAccording to the commissioner for the intercollegiate athletic organization The Big Sky Conference, a new deal with the America Channel will allow the network to broadcast at least 27 women’s athletic events beginning in the 2007-2008 academic year.

While the focus will be on women’s basketball, the network will also broadcast women’s soccer, volleyball and tennis matches.

The America Channel, which launches in August, is a new Florida-based network that “celebrates real people, real stories, real America” and will be available on most basic cable packages.

Let’s hope that they don’t have any real objections to giving equal coverage to all the real lesbian athletes who we’ll be tuning in to watch. For real.
