Watch Now! Sarah Shahi comes out of the closet for equality

Sarah Shahi is coming out of the closet in this new PSA from GLAAD. The former L Word star talks about being an ally, and she’s joining the likes of Jackie Chan, Tamala Jones, Giada de Laurentiis and Pauley Perrette in asking non-queer people to come out for gay marriage. AfterEllen.com is premiering Sarah’s video, and you can find others at www.glaad.org/ally.

The PSAs were directed by Brett Ratner, who dedicated his time to the campaign after using a gay slur and later apologizing after talking with GLAAD. The great news is Comcast will be airing them, as they’ve contributed $1.5 million in national airtime on its Xfinity TV cable systems.Charisse R. Lillie, Vice President, Community Investment, Comcast Corporation and President of the Comcast Foundation, said they are proud to be a part of “this message of acceptance and equality. Our support of diverse communities is a cornerstone of our culture and we are pleased to be able to provide this valuable air-time to promote this important message.”

What do you think of Sarah’s PSA? Were you hoping she’d say she was, indeed, “an L word?”
