“S-Her-Lock” puts a wonderfully modern twist on the classic Sherlock Holmes

The world has been fascinated with Sherlock Holmes’ mysteries since the famous detective was created in 1887 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Robert Downey Jr., Benedict Cumberbatch, Sir Ian McKellen and Jonny Lee Miller have all notably played Holmes on television and film, but the new series S-Her-Lock is putting a terrific new twist on the character.

This new adaptation is created by Kate Tracy and stars Helen Davies (who also co-directs) as Sherlock Holmes, an asexual woman and brilliant detective. By her side, as usual, is the faithful Dr. Johanna Watson (played by trans actress and writer Lisa Bunker). The series is full of LGBTQA characters, and has a decidedly feminist slant. In other words, right up our alley.

The series will be making its debut on November 13th at a screening party in Portland, ME. Check it out if you are in the area. Otherwise, follow S-Her-Lock on Twitter and Facebook to find out when you can watch the series from the comfort of your own computer.
