Season 3 of Entangled With You is finally here and it was definitely worth the wait. The entire cast is back including Loren Lillian as Jaliyah, Kathryn Taylor Smith as Alisha and Sarah Croce as Ivory. Laura Zak (Tello’s #Hashtag), Vivian Lamolli (Hulu’s Emmy-nominated East Los High) and Victoria Ortiz (Transparent, The Fosters) also appear in the season. Our very own Editor-in-Chief, Trish Bendix, even makes a short cameo!
Of course, we all want to know if roommates Jaliyah and Alisha are ever going to get together. Yet, what makes this web series so engaging is that the other secondary storylines are equally as compelling. In addition to the sweet will-they-won’t-they tension between Jaliyah and Alisha this season, we also get to enjoy watching Jen and Kassie’s relationship take a romantic turn. But can it last?
Candace and Darrell decide that they want to make a bigger commitment to each other, but not if Darrell’s mother, Miss Gladys has anything to say about it. Believe me, this brazen and outspoken woman has an opinion about everything! Al Thompson’s hilarious portrayal of the annoyingly clueless Craig rounds out the show.
Entangled With You is funny, sexy and smart. Although breaking the fourth wall in episode 13 in order to make a self-deprecating joke was a bit too much, the dramedy is generally well-written and balanced with equal parts romance and ridiculousness. Between laughs about The Color Purple and Scandal the well-written show deftly tacks real issues like biphobia and butch/femme stereotypes in the queer community.
The third and final season of the hit web series includes six new binge-worthy episodes which premieres today, June 2nd.
