- I've been an EMT since 06. About a week after i started I found out that I was in the wroooooong profession. Not b/c of the stress, long hours, lack of sleep or even the occasional gore. But b/c the ppl at Starbucks make...get this...anywhere from 3-6 dollars more then EMTs. As I was thinking about this my patient crashed. Lights and sirens go on and we haul ass to the nearest ER. After the call was over I was finishing up my run sheet thinking this is WAY better than making fancy coffee!!! So I guess I'm trying to say is that I'm an outgoing person that enjoys activities that involve adrenaline :D and even though I won't become the next Bill Gates being an EMT haveing a passion and love 4 what u do is the most important thing...The lights, sirens, running red lights and going against traffic help too...;)
