My name is Kacey.  I'm a musician/photographer/pretty cool person from Southern California.  I currently reside in Las Vegas (and I hate it).

I grew up in assorted southern California cities (Anaheim Hills, Riverside and Arcadia) before moving out to Las Vegas.  I never realized how much I would miss 75 and sunny, until I moved to 113 and blistering (of course in the winter it's 30 and snowing, which is another thing a California kid is not used to).

I used to work as a Skipper on the World Famous Jungle Cruise at Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, CA.  I now work as a travel agent for Citibank's "Thank You" rewards program (I am actually an Expedia.com employee).  Working at Citi is a day job to earn money while I go to school and pursue my passion, which is photography. 

 As a free lance photographer I have worked with many different and wonderful people.  My main focus in photography is live events such as concerts, and visual journalism.  Some musicians I have worked for include Tegan & Sara, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Jenny Lewis/The Elected/Rilo Kiley, Tilly & the Wall, Bright Eyes, Audrye Sessions, Darci Cash and Veruca Salt.  When I'm not photographing bands rock out, I'm trying to find settings that will convey stories best told through sight.  I have interned and numerous magazines and local news stations.  I hope to one day hold a position with a network program, which would enable me to cover larger issues, such as wars overseas, famines and epidemics, and other noteworthy events deserving mass attention (and action).

While I do enjoy and live for photography, I also appreciate the simpler things in life, like hanging out with my friends and meeting new ones.  I'm incredibly easy to get along with, and my arch nemisis is drama.  I try to avoid trouble at all costs (which I find quite hard, what with dating girls and all).  I'm a sucker for a kind word, and I love getting to know new people. 

I've found it incredibly hard to make like-minded friends around my age out here in Vegas.  I'm either too busy working, or just in the wrong place.  I've yet to meet any friends in the LGBT community (a community I'm slowly growing more attatched to).  Hopefully AfterEllen.com will be a means to meet new and interesting people that I can relate to (since sometimes straight friends just don't cut it).
