Kaki, in addition to blogging for AfterEllen.com, has also written for the U.S. Olympic Committee, OutSports.com, PlanetOut.com, Gay.com and other websites. She won the Cover Story of the Year award and the Column of the Year award for a Florida newspaper.

She has interviewed celebrities, athletes, and other amazing people, such as Katie Couric, Martina Navratilova, Billie Jean King, Sheryl Swoopes, Rosie Jones, Lilly Tomlin, Kate Clinton, Garrison Keillor and Tiger Woods.

She is also involved in the Los Angeles gay and lesbian community, which includes volunteering for the Trevor Project and serving on the board of the LA Gay & Lesbian Center's Women's Night planning committee. 

Forever, her favorite event will be playing football in the pouring rain with her 14 nieces and nephews one Labor Day weekend years ago.
