Gay Girl’s Goggles: “The Secret Circle” SnapCap (1.16) – Lucky

When only four percent of scripted TV shows feature LGBT characters, what’s a gay girl to do? Why, strap on your gay goggles and watch TV along with us, of course! Our handy appraisal scale is better than any old letter grade. Other sites A+. We say, “What about our lezzy-lady feelings?”

I have no idea why this episode is named “Lucky.” Unless the cute new boy turns out to be some kind of Australian leprechaun.

AFTERELLEN BAIT

No Dassie. No Faylissa. Even the growing Dalissa ship was grounded for the week, thanks to a golden Aussie boy with magic dimples.

OK, maybe they had a fleeting thought of dropping those boxes and making out. But the only rainbow action we actually saw was Diana landing her lips on the maybe leprechaun from Oz.

FEELINGS, FEELINGS, FEELINGS!

Let’s review. Before TSC went on hiatus, we were supposed to have feelings about Cassie and Adam being destiny. This week:

Still annoying.

Still lesbian.

I think we were also supposed to be rooting for Lee and Cassie. This week:

Still personality free.

Still too hot for the personality free.

MOMENTS OF FAYE

When Cassie says her dad was hiding to protect her: “Sounds like the excuse of a man who’s hiding a whole other family somewhere. Oh, god. Imagine if there’s another Cassie running around. Then you could each have one.”

“I need to scrounge together a date for Casino night. I don’t want to pull a Diana.”

“You can’t live in the past, especially when the present looks like me.”

“I think you’re confusing me with one of those sad girls who’ll wait for a guy to choose.”

“OK, let’s see if those plans of yours can withstand these.”

Oh, Faye, we’ve missed you — and yours.

THE FOREBODING

The Parental Circle had a lot to say this week, particularly John and Ethan. They probably should’ve arm wrestled, too, over Cassie’s mom. We learned tonight that Ethan helped the witch hunters the night of the fire because he thought they were just going to kill John. But Ethan feels avenged somewhat, because now his son and John’s daughter are written in the stars.

What Ethan didn’t know is “being written in the stars is not only destiny, it’s a curse.” And so, when Cassie and Adam are finally doing the deed at the end of the show, scary black birds gather and circle the house.

Witch sex must put out some really weird pheromones.
