Poll: Hottest IRL Lesbian Couples

Love is in the air, which means we want to have our favorite couples battle it out for The Hottest IRL (In Real Life) Lesbian Couple. We polled our contributors and came up with this list from which you can choose the ultimate lesbian couple. Our stipulations: They have to be out, they have to be a couple, and they have to be out as a couple.

In no particular order, here’s who you can vote for.

Probably the most well known lesbian couple on earth, the couple were married in 2008 with a highly publicized ceremony at their home. Together they are advocates for vegan diets and kindness to animals.

Cynthia and Christine have been together since 2004 and have one child together, born last year. While the Sex and the City star may have made some controversial statements about her own sexuality as of late, she’s steadfast about her love for Christine and happiness that gay marriage has become legalized in her home state of New York.

The actress and photographer have been together for several years and are active in fighting for equality. Amber’s roles in The Playboy Club and The Rum Diary brought her into the mainstream this year and she never shies away from discussing her sexuality and love for Tasya.

A comedic actress and a television writer sound like a perfect match, which must be why Nicol and Ali found one another this year after break-ups with their previous long-time significant others. This could be a new power couple, with both of their careers heating up.

Rosie moved to Chicago for The Rosie Show and met the new love of her life, Michelle, at a Starbucks, of all places. They just announced their engagement, and seem to ignore the tabloids indicating that Michelle’s parents had no idea she was gay.

The moms of toddler twins got hitched in 2008, after Wanda publicly proclaimed her being a lesbian at a Prop 8 rally in Las Vegas. Now Alex and the children are often part of Wanda’s act or conversations on late night talk shows.

The Talk co-host and award-winning songwriter seem to be in that honeymoon phase, gushing about their compatibility and seen smiling about town together. They admit they look somewhat alike, but Linda has the tattoos to set them apart.

The couple have been engaged since 2008 and plan to marry as well as have children sometime in the next year, as they wanted to wait until it was legal in New York. Heather likes to tell the story of how they met, saying she called her mom to tell her she’d met her wife.

Leisha and Cam met when they formed Uh Huh Her, but didn’t start dating until after the band had already released an album and hit the road. They took the relationship public after an unfortunate incident with Southwest Airlines last fall, but don’t seem to have regretted it since.

Jane and Lara had instant chemistry when they met at a fundraiser in San Francisco in 2009. What started as a long-distance relationship became much more serious and the two got married in June 2010. Jane has become step-mom to Lara’s daughter, Haden, and they also just welcomed a puppy into their Los Angeles home.

The two met at (where else?) the gym in 2005, and were married on the beach in Puerto Vallarta in 2010. Jessica and Lacey have a bi-coastal relationship, as both of their careers (modeling/acting, fitness and training, respectively) keep them busy.

The DJ began dating Erin, songwriter David Foster’s daughter, in 2011. Sam recently talked about her girlfriend in her first video blog for HelloGiggles.com, where Erin is also a blogger.

The couple met in overnight camp when they were youngsters and rekindled their friendship later in life, which evolved into a romance. They eventually got hitched in Malibu in October 2010 after a painstaking season of The Real L Word was spent planning the event. The ceremony was featured in Curve magazine.

Perhaps the most off-and-on couple of the list, The Real L Word personalities seem to be super hot for one another, which can make things even more heated when it’s not going so well. As of now, they seem to be more on than off, and who knows what editing manipulated for the two.

Stamie has three children with her ex, so Tracy has had to become an impromptu mom when they met and started dating a few years ago. On Season 1 of The Real L Word, Tracy tried to get her mother to acknowledge their relationship. The couple met on camera after finding each other on an online dating site. Though they split up once while on The Real L Word, they came back together in the final episode and continue to date.

Lisa says her film about lesbian moms was inspired somewhat by her and Wendy’s having to choose a sperm donor.

Cherry and Sarah started dating in 2005 and split for a while in 2009 before rekindling their romance later that year. We’re sure to see them even more in 2012 with Cherry’s new show, Awake, and Sarah’s career on the fast track.

Melissa and Linda had been best friends for years before it turned into something more. The singer and Nurse Jackie showrunner have been together since Melissa’s split from Tammy Lynn Michaels and are working on writing a musical together.
