Tonight’s the night, Sara Ramirez and Grey’s Anatomy fans. It’s the night of the buzzed-about musical episode on the medical drama.
Last week’s episode, “This is How We Do It,” ended after Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) proposed to Callie (Ramirez) as they were driving – Callie sans seatbelt – and faded to white amid the sounds of a car crashing and glass shattering.
“I think that the proposal is something that is 100 percent heartfelt, but it’s just something that she sees as an answer to not feeling legitimate in this new arrangement,” Jessica Capshaw told TVGuide.com. “So, before you can even figure out why it is that she asks Callie to marry her, they’re in this horrible situation.”
Judging from the opening minute in the clip below, this week’s episode will pick up moments afterward and offers a look at how the musical will be handled.

Need Kleenex yet? Yeah, I did, too. The song featured here, “Cosy in the Rocket” by Psapp, also should sound familiar since it’s from the drama’s former opening sequence.
According to TVGuide.com, the episode was seven years in the making and Callie’s sort of out-of-body experience is partially explained by the origin of her name: Calliope is a mythological Greek figure who was the muse of song.
“They make the connection from the get-go, so we understand why it’s music that Callie’s soul is speaking to her through and why she sees everybody singing,” Ramirez said.
