As Dorothy Snarker has been telling us, the series looks to be a chance for us to watch The Woman Who Kissed Lena in a complex, kick-ass role as a CIA agent.
But in case you need a little push to add Covert Affairs to your DVR, we are happy to oblige: Emmanuelle Vaugier has joined the cast as a “fearless journalist/blogger” (I don’t know what it means, either) who is connected to Perabo’s character Annie Walker.
Vaugier most recently played one of Charlie’s many girlfriends in Two and a Half Men. (Why is that show still on the air?) But she may be more recognizable to AfterEllen.com readers as Dr. Brice from Smallville, Nicki from One Tree Hill or Detective Jessica Angell from CSI:NY.
However you know her, you know this: She’s hot.
Covert Affairs, which comes from the producers of the Bourne trilogy and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, will premier July 13, paired with USA’s hit show White Collar. In TV programming code, that translates to a confidence that the show will be a hit. And USA seems to have a pretty good sense of that. I’m just glad the network has decided to invest in another woman-driven show to go along with In Plain Sight and Facing Kate.
I, for one, am all in. What about you? Will you tune in to Covert Affairs?
