Carrie-Anne Moss to boss cops around

ABC has announced that Carrie-Anne Moss, who we first came to know and love as the kick-ass Trinity in The Matrix, has been cast as a police lieutenant in the drama pilot Suspect. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Moss plays “the boss of the department who is tough on the outside and warm and caring on the inside.”

The series, which is another police procedural, focuses on crime-solving through examining all the suspects involved. Maybe I’ve just read too many mystery novels, but isn’t that the way all crimes are solved? Guy Ritchie (Mr. Madonna) is slated to executive produce and direct. Suspect also stars Charles S. Dutton (he briefly played Dr. Benjamin Bradshaw on The L Word), Erik Palladino (ER), Michael Ealy (Sleeper Cell), and Kathleen Munroe (Beautiful People) as “the squad baby.”

Hmm. Here’s a pic of Moss at the premiere of her last film, Fido, last fall: And for old time’s sake, a pic of her as Trinity (didn’t have time to photoshop out the guy on the back of the bike, sorry!):
