Top 10 hotties in outer space

Battlestar Galactica’s Cylons Number 6 and D’Anna Biers aren’t the only beauties in outer space. If sci-fi teaches us anything, it’s that in the future, the galaxies are filled with hot-bod, kick-ass women and awesome androids in skin-tight space jumpers. That, and everyone’s armed to the teeth with crazy-looking guns.

Here’s my list of the 10 finest (non-BSG) hotties in outer space. If anyone needs me, I’ll be in the garage building a time-travel machine.

10. Leeloo, The Fifth Element, 1997

Milla Jovovich was a “supreme being” who proved you can be winsome and still save the world. Meanwhile, in fashion news, Uggs will be making a comeback in the distant future.

9. Barbarella, Barbarella, 1968

Before leg warmers, Vietnam and Ted Turner, there was Jane Fonda as Barbarella — the mother of all space glamazons.

8. Alex, Saturn 3, 1980

A better title for this stinker of a B movie might have been Out of Uranus, but still … Farrah Fawcett was breathtaking in her day. Farrah had a brief nude scene in Saturn 3. Sadly, 64-year-old Kirk Douglas did too.

7. Andromeda Ascendant, Andromeda, 2000 2005

Lexa Doig played both the ship’s artificial intelligence (AI) and an android version of itself. Let’s face it — given the same neat-o power, why wouldn’t you make yourself look like this?

6. Carmen Ibanez, Starship Troopers, 1997

Whether she’s playing a starship pilot battling alien bugs or a nuclear physicist in a James Bond flick, Denise Richards is unbelievably hot, even when her roles are just unbelievable.

5. Seven of Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, 1997 2001

Jeri Ryan in a cat suit. ‘Nuff said.

4. Dr. Eleanor Arroway, Contact, 1997

Fact and faith converged for Jodie Foster in this film about extraterrestrials and an awesome alien transit system. Fact and faith converge for us too — every time Jodie’s name comes up.

3. Call, Alien: Resurrection, 1997

Winona Ryder was the cutest self-loathing “next-gen” robot ever to come off the factory line. Who could blame Ripley for flirting with her, er, it?

2. Padm 2005

Natalie Portman has an ethereal look that borders on the heavenly. Has anyone noticed there’s a complete absence of body fat on other worlds?

1. Ellen Ripley, Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien: Resurrection, 1979 1997

A no-brainer. Even though the future does a downward spiral into a gritty dystopia devoid of air conditioning, Sigourney Weaver‘s Ripley just got better and better with each Alien installment. In space, no one can hear you scream sigh.
