The South Florida Sun is reporting that The National Security Agency (NSA) is actively recruiting viewers of Lost and CSI into their ranks. The NSA launched ad campaigns in the Washington-Baltimore area around the fall premieres of both shows, hoping to attract educated viewers with computer science, engineering, math, analysis and language skills. (NSA spokesman Donny Weber, said that the ad air date of September 11 was “purely coincidental.”)
CIA veteran Ron Marks speculates that the association of the ads with the hit television shows could do for the NSA what the program Alias did for the CIA — add a smart, hip glean to an organization typically characterized as “nefarious.”
No word yet on how the NSA plans to manage the likely flood of inquiries from devoted lesbian viewers of both shows, who tune in each week to watch the ass-kicking exploits of Marg Helgenberger (CSI), Jorja Fox (CSI), and Evangeline Lilly (Lost).
It’s a tricky scenario considering that the NSA will neither confirm nor deny accusations that they spy on LGBT organizations. Of course, we have our own theories about those accusations. We could tell you, but we’d have to kill you.
