Tegan and Sara were guests on Charlie Rose last night where they discussed their love of his show, their 17-year musical career and “stepping up, not selling out.” But they also talk about being queer in mainstream music, and their LGBT fanbase. I love this quote from Tegan early on:
“And we’re very invested in trying to reach a broader audience and to diversify the mainstream. There’s not a ton of queer women in the mainstream and we’re queer and we saw an opportunity.”
