Cosima overhears Susan’s end of the call, specifically the bit about being excited to restart the cloning experiment. Cosima is so not pleased, even when Susan says that Evie has been “firmly retired.”
As soon as Susan hangs up, Cosima comes in and scolds Susan for using her. She accuses her of not even caring about curing the Leda clones, but Susan swears she does…and in the same breath calls them “mistakes.” Susan says that progress comes with a price, and that P.T. Westmoreland understood that when he wrote the Neolution Bible in this very room. Cosima thinks this is a weird thing to mention but realizes that it was just to basically announce she was locking Cosima in said room. Rude.
Ira is excited to be on the board of Bright Born, but Rachel informs him that he won’t be necessary. She has Ferdinand tie him up while she calls Van Lier and plans to meet with the board herself.
When Van Lier exits the building, he’s greeted by press, including a sassy blonde who says she’s from TMZ, asking about Neolution, deformed babies, and Delphine Cormier. Van Lier recognizes Krystal and tells her to leave but she tells him to meet him around the corner so he does. Mrs. S and her gun lead him into a waiting car and the Leda clone reveals herself to be Sarah, not Krystal.
Sarah asks again about Delphine, because I swear she ships Cophine more than all of us. Van Lier explains that Evie had Duko shoot Delphine, but he, Van Lier, was ordered to save her by someone over Evie’s head. He doesn’t understand why they’re there, they can restart human cloning now, they won, but he doesn’t realize only Rachel was in on this scoop.
Speaking of Rachel, she has donned her power cape and is telling the board that human cloning is back on the table.
She says that Evie had no baseline and Susan has no balls but she has both so she’s ready to talk about clones with bots in them, experimenting in countries where she can take away their autonomy and treat them like lab rats. She talks like she isn’t a clone herself, and her eyes are wild and power hungry.
