“Orphan Black” recap (4.09): Lost and Found

Sarah calls Rachel to give her an update about the wall they hit with Kendra. Rachel is like, “Threaten her kid, duh,” but Sarah wants this to be Kendra’s decision and doesn’t want to offer her false promises like protection. Sarah DOES offer her a safehouse and a guarantee that they genuinely care about Kendra’s wellbeing and that of her kids, but Rachel sends Ira in for reinforcement anyway. While Sarah and Art deal with some of Evie’s cronies, Rachel calls Kendra on the landline (??!) and threatens her with the questionable ethics that were clearly nurture not nature.

When Sarah realizes Kendra is missing, she goes outside just in time to see Ira driving her away.

KIIIIIIIRAAA—oh wait, KENDRAAAA

After a failed attempt at reconnecting with God, Alison breaks down; everything is too hard right now, and she can’t even go to the grocery store without feeling like a leper, so she wants to run away to Niagara. They start to pack, happy to see that an ambulance has taken the place of the undercover cops, not knowing what we know about EMTs ’round these parts. Donnie goes downstairs to get his flip flops when Alison hears a thud. She goes to check on her tubby hubby and finds him being held at scalpel point by Manbun himself. He ties Donnie up and gags him, then pins Alison to the couch and threatens her with a defective maggotbot, demanding to know about Sarah and Duko.

So Alison starts to pray. She prays like she knows she’s going to die, because she knows she won’t betray her sestras. She asks God to protect her family, so He sends her an angel.

An angry angel with Mockingjay flare.

Helena shoots the EMT right in the throat, screechy music blaring, Donnie squealing like the pig Helena compares him to. It. is. GLORIOUS. And it’s not even the best part of the episode! We haven’t even gotten to that yet! It’ll be a minute, though, hang tight.

Sarah and Art bust into Ira and Rachel’s place and start yelling about ProClone striking again, but Rachel isn’t there, she’s meeting with Evie, essentially blackmailing her with Kendra as her chess piece.

Evie still wants Leda, Susan and the clones to be over with, and Rachel is fine with all that. She just wants to be in the room where it happens.

And then set the room on fire.

Evie takes the deal, but Rachel has one last question; why bother euthanizing the deformed babies? Evie says their existence ruins their whole model of perfection, and it’s better for everyone, and as she says this, Ira shows Sarah and Felix that Rachel is recording everything through her necklace.

Sarah is actually impressed by her evil sestra.
