“Orphan Black” recap (4.08): Superstar

Alison goes to visit Donnie in prison, and is a little alarmed when Felix tells her that Adele is going to be their lawyer, but before they can come up with a contingency plan, Adele stumbles in and even in her always-buzzed state, can tell Alison looks mighty familiar. Or I guess familial is a better term here. Felix tells Adele that Alison is Sarah’s twin, and she goes about doing lawyerly things despite Alison’s growing concerns with this plan.

On the secret, shady island, Susan is giving Charlotte a science lesson when Rachel comes in to demand to know Susan’s long-term plan. She makes coffin jokes and goads Susan, hoping to restart her will to fight for the Leda clones and their survival.

Sarah updates Mrs. S on everything, including how Detective Duko was definitely part of all this, and S looks longingly at her rifle at the sound of his name.

Dreams of murderplots dance in her head…

She disappears with her giant weapon while Mika patches Sarah through to Susan and Rachel. As soon as they establish the connection, Sarah puts Cosima on, who isn’t exactly on Team Rachel. (Though they do exchange “yo”s and it’s the actual best thing.)

It reminded me of the, “You’re gay” interaction.

Kira interrupts the Sestra Skype Sesh to tell Sarah that Mrs. S left and took her gun. Sarah is concerned, and rightly so, because Mrs. S is definitely stalking Detective “Creepface” Duko.

Cosima stays on the call and tells Susan about what they’ve managed to salvage of their research, which frankly isn’t much. But Cosima won’t tell them any more, won’t give of her perfect brain, if Rachel and Ira are involved. The sestras have a standoff, neither of them wanting to back down.

At the prison, Adele gives Donnie advice about not talking to anyone, unaware how very too late that advice is.

“Basically, everything your instincts are telling you to do? Do the opposite.”

Adele surprisingly sounds like she knows what she’s doing, but Donnie still asks for a word with his wife alone. He tells her about the Neolution prisoner threatening him, and Alison knows that Duko is behind this.

Sarah ropes Art into helping her again, and he warns her that if S kills Duko, things will get worse, not better. Unfortunately, they don’t know where either of them are, because S isn’t answering her phone and Duko turned off the GPS in his car.

Mrs. S is set up in a sniper’s nest, ready to shoot Duko right between the earmuffs, when Alison shows up to meet with him. S calls Sarah to warn her while Duko essentially makes Alison choose between her husband’s life and her sestra’s. He wants Sarah Manning, or else.
