“Orphan Black” recap (4.07): Boys want to be her, girls want to be her

In the safehouse, Mrs. S meets up with Art and tells him that the creepy detective, Zuko, is working for Evie. So Art marches to the police station and gives him punch in the face for Kendall and a few swift kicks in the ribs for Beth and her sestras. The Detective isn’t scared, though, even lying in a bloody heap on the ground at Art’s feet. He knows the precinct has been looking into Art’s shady dealings; he knows Art isn’t going to be holding a badge for long.

Charlotte and Rachel are having a painting therapy session, and after Charlotte coughs up more blood, Rachel can’t hold the truth in any longer: They’re both sick, and Charlotte is dying.

She definitely inherited her sestras’ “Bitch, please” face.

She floated it about as softly as Alison dropped the clone thing on Sarah, but I wouldn’t have expected anything else from Rachel.

After Sarah comes inside from her threesome, Dizzy and Tito have a cockfight and ruin everyone’s fight. So Elle and Tito disappear into the bar and Dizzy and Sarah head back to his place. While they’re starting to hook up, Dizzy starts asking her about the maggotbot. She doesn’t want to talk about it, but as she’s sucking on his finger, he realizes that hers is gone. He starts to ask about it again, because he knows people who would love to get theirs out, but this isn’t Sarah’s kink—in fact, this is the reason she’s on this bender in the first place. To forget. So she storms out, calling him a wanker, and yelling at Beth’s reflection to leave her alone.

At least she didn’t break the mirror; she has enough bad luck all on her own.

At the end of a normalcy bender of her own, Alison is enjoying hearing Donnie tell the girls ghost stories. But then a real-life horror story starts when the police all but bust down the door to arrest Donnie. Presents are trampled, cupcakes are lost, kids are screaming, all while the cheeriest children’s song plays in the background. After they haul Donnie away, Detective Duko slinks in with his weird earmuffs and hands Alison his card, name-dropping Kendall, so she knows he’s involved. Poor Alison looks as shaken as ever.

Mrs. S goes in to check in on Kira, who is worried about her mum. Kira says Sarah blames herself for Granny’s death, and that her mum is going to go follow Beth. Which rightly worries Mrs. S.

And sure enough, Sarah is walking across a bridge when she runs into Beth, not in a mirror this time, but still looking very disapproving.

Scott and Cosima discuss their options while inspecting Sarah’s maggotbot. Cosima thinks that it’s possible that if they put it in her, it will turn off whatever is making her sick. Scott says it could also shut off something more important, or turn something ON that they don’t want on, so it’s too risky just to shove in her cheek.

The bell rings, meaning their food is here, so they head upstairs. But Cosima doubles back and locks herself in the basement. She’s ready for risky.

Redefining crazy science…for the worse.
