“Orphan Black” recap (4.06): Worth the Salt

Meanwhile, Susan comes to Felix’s loft to meet Kendall and watch Scott take blood from her.

At the same time, at Bright Born, they’ll be getting Sarah’s maggot bot out of her mouth, but she doesn’t trust the Evil EMT, so Cosima will help with that, promising to take for ice cream if she’s good.

This is another one of those sorcery scenes.

Susan tells Kendall that she’s very valuable and that where her husband saw the best in people, she saw the very most they could be. Which is probably why their values didn’t align enough for them to continue working together.

Cosima and Evie work close together – quite literally – as they inspect the maggotbot in Sarah’s cheek, geeking out over the intricate nature of it, the fact that it provide biofeedback, essentially giving it instincts to adapt to its environment.

I’d go to the doctor way more often if they looked like this.

Sarah’s not loving the nerd talk while there are needles in her mouth, so the girls get to work. The plan is to disable the failsafe before extracting, so the death tendrils don’t burst out, but just after Cosima offers her sestra a reassuring word of encouragement, Evie says that the worm started leaking a deadly toxin. Cosima slowly puts a swab in Sarah’s mouth to stop the leakage, and they remove the maggotbot nice and slow.

And, finally, Sarah is free. Cosima is proud of her sestra for staying brave through it all.

SESTRAS

Meanwhile, Scott is separating cancer cells for Susan, who is acting a little squirrely. Mrs. S sends Kendall off with Benjamin, asking him to keep an eye out on her, but as soon as they get outside, they’re attacked.

At Art’s apartment, Krystal is chattering away as usual, while Art tries his best to keep a straight face until Felix gets there.

Resting Duck Face is real, people.
