“The 100” recap (3.14): Desperate Measures

Meanwhile in Arkadia, Raven is horrified at how many people Alie has in the City of Light now. Raven doesn’t want to wait for Clarke before taking Alie down from the inside, but Monty convinces her to hold off a while longer. Harper and Monty take a walk, and Raven promises not to make any rash decisions while he’s gone.

Once they’re alone, Harper kisses Monty, saying they should take some time to just…relax. Enjoy the silence instead of waiting in fear for the next sound. He makes her promise that she’s not being controlled by an AI, and she smiles because he’s an adorable little nugget.

Harper’s been smiling a lot lately, I’m afraid for her life.

She pulls him into a room, and Monty can’t believe his damn luck.

Jasper chats with the storyteller floukru, who has never been off the rig and leads a peaceful life. But Jasper has taken a liking to her, she’s a woman of color on a CW show, and her name is Shay, so she was doomed from the start.

Clarke is feeling desperate and is thinking maybe they have to just force the flame onto Luna. Octavia thinks it’s super messed up, and so does Clarke to be honest, but no one can think of a better idea.

I have one! Blood transfusion! Commander Clarke!

Octavia argues that even Alie gives people a choice, but that’s because she doesn’t know the extent to which Alie is coercing people into that choice.

In Arkadia, Harper and Monty are enjoying some post-coital snuggles when Raven busts in, announces her relief that this inevitable smushing finally happened, then tells them to come check out what she found in the City of Light code. It’s a Citadel, with many doors and locks, meaning Alie has something to hide.

Monty tells Raven that she’s not an AI and that she’s pushing herself too far. He says he should really get some sleep and wait for the others to come back, but she’s going to keep going. She’s hyperfocused now, and she can’t stop won’t stop.

On the oil rig, Luna is teaching kids about fishing and making them laugh and being adorable when Clarke interrupts. Luna explains that the kids were orphaned from war or ran away from them like she did. She asks what Titus said about her, and Clarke confesses that he called her a coward. Luna knows Titus must have taken Lexa’s death hard, and the look on Clarke’s face when she says this tells her that Clarke loved her, too. Clarke says that Lexa was special, that she was working toward peace, that Luna wouldn’t have to give up her ways to join them.

Lexa IS special.

But Luna has peace and doesn’t want to be put in a position where she might have to compromise her values. But Luna is Clarke’s last hope, so she tries to force the flame on her. Luna flips her to the ground easily and explains calmly that she didn’t run away from her conclave because she was afraid to lose; she was afraid to win. She ran after killing her own brother and says that Clarke should be grateful she did, because Lexa would have been next.
