“The 100” recap (3.12): The past can come back to haunt you

In Polis, Murphy pulls Emori into Titus’s lair, and she looks around in wonder at all the cave paintings on the wall of the tirkru origin story. He doesn’t want to talk about that, though, so they kiss instead. After they do it, Murphy tells Emori to leave Polis, but she feels no fear. So Murphy tells her all about the flame and how he’s only alive because Ontari thinks he can help her. He mentions that he’s sleeping with Ontari too, but Emori doesn’t even flinch at the news. Murphy is summoned by the fake Heda, so he says goodbye to his desert girlfriend.

At the Ark, Clarke finds Bellamy, and they realize that Emerson took everyone. Clarke blames herself for showing Emerson mercy back in Polis, but they don’t have time for that right now. Raven radios, her and Sinclair haven’t been visited by the demon yet, so Clarke warns them.

“YOU’RE BOTH MINORITIES, NEITHER OF YOU ARE SAFE. RUN.”

Raven says Emerson wasn’t chipped, so he’s here for good old-fashioned revenge on the Mountain Slayer.

The lights go out, but Emerson has night vision, so he attacks Raven and Sinclair, killing Sinclair and taking Raven.

Clarke and Bellamy find Sinclair’s body and knows that this means Emerson isn’t killing her friends. Otherwise he would have left them like he left Sinclair. So she radios to Emerson and offers herself in exchange for her friends’ lives. He makes no promises but tells her to come, weaponless, to the airlock.

Clarke tries to give Lexa to Bellamy for safekeeping on the journey to Luna, but even Bellamy can see that’s a terrible idea. So Clarke looks to Lexa for advice and bravery.

“Step one, stop taking me out of my little metal case.”

In Polis, Ontari is seeing the people of Polis one problem at a time, and something tells me she’s no Daenerys Targaryen. But Murphy springs to action when he sees that next in line is Jaha himself. Jaha calls her a false commander, so Ontari clears the room, and Murphy asks how he would even know such a thing. Jaha says he told him himself—and Emori steps forward. She’s been chipped.

Ontari presses a sword at Murphy’s throat, betrayed, but Jaha says Murphy still might be of service to them, so she has him arrested instead. Jaha offers Ontari the true legacy of Bekka pramheda, a bigger, bluer chip than the original flame. All she has to do for unlimited power is swallow it.

“I’m not supposed to take candy from strangers…just kidding, I was raised by the Ice Queen, bottoms up.”

Clarke goes to the airlock to give herself up to Emerson, but Emerson knows Bellamy is lurking in the shadows. He uses a knife to threaten Octavia until Bellamy drops his weapon and locks himself up next to his sister. Clarke follows Emerson’s orders and gets down on her knees, hoping her friends’ lives will be spared if she cooperates. But Emerson says she murdered almost 400 of his people—of course he’s not going to just let her friends go. He presses a button and presses Clarke’s face against the glass as the air is sucked out of the room her friends are locked in. Clarke begs him to stop.
