Morning Brew – Kate McKinnon celebrates “Ghostbusters” at CinemaCon

Good morning!

New Girl has been renewed for a sixth season, and Megan Fox is definitely coming back.

Kristen Stewart is a blonde for now.

Jane Lynch enjoyed herself at the TV Land Icon Awards.

St. Vincent will make her directing debut as part of an all-women-helmed anthology horror series XX.

Alycia Debnam-Carey talked about Lexa at a recent press event for Fear the Walking Dead.

“It was an unexpected turn of events. I didn’t expect that character to become quite an icon. I mean, what an incredible sort of power that has for groups of people and storytelling. And I think I have a newfound respect for storytelling… and how a true collaboration can bring to life an incredible character.”

Vietnamese lesbian-themed film White Valentine will open in select AMC theaters in the U.S. this weekend.

Halsey wore a beautiful, glittery gown to The Huntsman: Winter’s War premiere.

Hillary Clinton and Megan Rapinoe celebrated Equal Pay Day by participating in a pay equality roundtable (which you can watch at the link).

Raven-Symone is back on Black-ish this week, and she’s bringing her partner.

This is what happens when lesbians leave the house.

Where are all the queer women in Iowa City?

Jessica Jones, Master of None, Transparent, and UnReal are all up for a Peabody Award.

Brandi Carlile will not be canceling her four upcoming North Carolina dates. She wrote on her Facebook page:

I’m a small artist, and I’m gay, many of my fans are gay as well. To cancel my shows in NC would further oppress my fans who are hurt by this legislation, who worked hard to suppress it, and who need a place where they can come together. That’s why we intend to be in Wilkesboro, Charlotte, Asheville, and Greensboro this summer. We’re going to come together, let our voices be heard, not stand down, and make a joyful noise in the face of this insult of a law.

Hannah Hart won a Shorty Award in the Food category this year, and Janet Mock won for Activism. Well deserved!

Kate McKinnon joined her Ghostbusters co-stars at CinemaCon this week. Cara Delevingne was there, too, for Suicide Squad.

Back to Kate for a second. The SNL star went to see Fun Home on Broadway this week, too.

Wonder Woman is about to get a female lover. Finally!
