Morning Brew – Christine Horn cast as Julie Goldman’s girlfriend in ABC lesbian comedy

Good morning!

My heart is broken for those of you in North Carolina after Governor Pat McCrory signed a terrible anti-LGBT bill into law yesterday once it passed quickly through the House and Senate. However, I am proud of the Senate democrats who walked out of the chamber in protest of this discriminatory piece of work that threatens the safety of many trans and gender-non-conforming people. They are the ones on the right side of history.

Meanwhile, Disney, Marvel, Time Warner and the NFL are threatening to pull out of Georgia if they pass the proposed The Free Exercise Protection Act.

Christine Horn (Complications, Selmahas been cast in the new straight guy/lesbian BFF comedy from ABC. She’ll play “Gail, a slightly pretentious ex-lawyer who gave up the rat race to open a bar in Austin with her girlfriend, where she mothers everybody.” As previously reported, her girlfriend will be played by Julie Goldman. The lead lesbian character has yet to be cast.

Sarah Silverman has joined the cast of Battle of the Sexes.

NCLR’s Kate Kendell talks with OutTake about their annual Palm Springs Garden party. This year, they’ll be honoring California Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom and Salt Lake City’s Mayor Jackie Biskupski.
