Morning Brew – Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry are honored for being stellar lesbian moms

Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend. I went and saw Andrea Gibson last night, which is an experience I highly recommend.

Someone else I recommend is Ladyhawke, whose new lyric video to “A Love Song” is super fun. If you’re not familiar with the lady behind the hawke (Pip Brown), the Sunday Magazine talked with her about her career, her wedding and coming out.

Ellen Page and Ian Daniel gave a keynote conversation at SXSW.

Also at SXSW, Tatiana Maslany, promoting her film The Other Half.

Cameron Esposito is in Austin, too, as she’s part of the film Operator. Here she is with wife Rhea Butcher.

Linda Perry and Sara Gilbert were honored by the Family Equality Council at their LA Impact Awards over the weekend. Linda also performed “Beautiful” and “What’s Up,” which you can see clips of on our Facebook page. We had a fun chat with the couple on the red carpet, which we’ll post this week.

The cast of Scream Queens didn’t reveal too much about Season 2 at PaleyFest other than it takes place partly in the mental institution where the Chanels have been committed. No word on if Chanel #3’s finale GF will be a part of it, but a fan did bring Billie Lourd some earmuffs.

TV personality Rosie Rivera is apologizing and saying she is wrong for having attended a lesbian wedding as she does not support same-sex marriage.

And here is why things like that are so damaging: A group of Chinese teens drugged their “friend” to stop her from being gay.

A lesbian professor at Central Michigan University is admitting she lied about a homophobic attack.

The Xena reboot is going to be super gay.

Thin Lips‘ “Never Again” is described as a “homosexual Blink 182 video,” and it’s pretty accurate.

Tegan and Sara‘s have revealed their new album cover.

The San Francisco Bay Times remembers the late Charlotte Coleman, who opened the city’s first lesbian-owned bar and helped found the Gay Olympics, among several other accomplishments.

The film version of Las Aparicio premiered at the San Diego Latina Film Festival and stars Liz Gallardo and ErĂ©ndira Ibarra (aka Julia and Mariana) were in attendance to talk about the impact the show has had on Mexican television. You can still catch the film today or on March 20th if you’re in the area.

The 100 fans are still angry about the loss of Alycia Debnam-Carey from the show and taking to Twitter to campaign for her return. Perhaps fans will get some answers from the show’s panel at WonderCon.

iO Tillett Wright and Nev Schulman made a video that touches on the lack of protections trans people have in the workplace.

At Bustle: Lesbians can be misogynistic.

At Mashable: I’m bisexual and I refuse to leave the LGBT community.
