Morning Brew – Ellen Page spent her childhood writing love letters

Good morning! Happy Super Tuesday!

Lesbian porn is all the rage all over America.

Tegan and Sara have announced four new show dates. (!!!)

Here’s what Sarah Paulson has to say about loyalty:

“As an actor, loyalty to your character and her story is of paramount importance. I will never stand in judgment of any character I play. You can’t abandon them, no matter what they do, think or feel. It serves me not one bit, and it doesn’t serve the story. Mistress Epps [from 12 Years a Slave] was a diabolical character-her behavior was reprehensible. But I remember [director] Steve McQueen telling me, ‘You must not judge her.’ So I didn’t look for ways to excuse her behavior. Instead, I tried to understand her actions within the context of her time. She wasn’t smart enough to question what she’d been told; she wasn’t an independent person of mind or heart. But the story wouldn’t be told in the same way if I’d tried to make her more palatable. My job is to serve the story, and if you have no loyalty to your character, you might as well not bother.”

Speaking of The Runaways, Lita Ford talked with HuffPost Live about finding out her bandmates were gay.

“I didn’t know anything about [homosexuality], and it was still in the closet. Nobody [back then] came out and said, ‘I’m gay.’ When I found out that the girls were all gay in the band, I wasn’t sure how to take it. I didn’t know what it was.” I thought, ‘You know, it’s really no big deal, that I shouldn’t worry about that,’ and I hoped to God that they call me back and get me back in the band, because I was thinking that they would go on to achieve superstar status and that I would just be sitting at home and doing nothing. Thank God they called me back and they said, ‘Lita, we can’t find anybody that could play guitar like you. Please come back.’ We just carried on, you know, because it was no big deal,” Ford said. “But to me it was, back then, and it just really threw me for a loop. I didn’t know that people do that.”
