Out in the forest, Pike’s crew is being weird and gathering dirt and water samples. Octavia is crouched nearby, watching and reporting back to Kane. A little Trikru child splashes by and Pike’s crew decides that he can’t live to tell his family what he saw. The kid starts to run and Octavia gets to him before Pike’s team does. She pulls him down and covers his mouth and keeps him quiet, even as acid sap drips on her face, because she’s a bamf like that.
As soon as Pike’s team is out of sight, she lets the kid go, and sasses his receding figure for not giving her so much as a “chof”.
At Arkadia, Abby…inspects Raven. And y’all, I was like toy boat shipping Doctor Mechanic before this episode. Now I’ve got a full-sized battleship to add to my fleet. Abby rubs her hand all up and down Raven’s leg, and when Raven still insists that her pain is totally gone, Abby is amazed. Suspicious, but amazed. And when Raven is smiling a big, unencumbered smile for the first time in weeks and weeks? You can’t help but smile back.
Even if she is smiling because she’s been brainwashed by Jaha, Alie and their City of Light.
Speak of the devil, Jaha is out in one of the common spaces, giving out City of Light wafers like they’re the Body of Christ. Jasper watches on, seeing how happy these people are, and is curious. But Abby warns him to wait until she learns more about these happy little pills before he gives into the hype.
Meanwhile, Miller plants a bug in Pike’s office, and he and Kane listen in as Pike and his crew plan to clear the land to plant food. Monty, new to the ranks along with our old friend Monroe, asks about the village that’s on the land Pike wants to turn into the new Farm Station, and Pike makes it obvious he plans on taking out the village. Octavia is listening in from outside the gates and feels very NOPE about the whole situation.
Bellamy is starting to feel like maybe Pike is going too far; somehow Lexa gave them a pass on massacring the army she sent to protect them, surely they shouldn’t push their luck by slaughtering a village, too? Pike looks him in the eye and asks if he’s standing with him or against him, and Bellamy says he’ll do what he has to do, so Octavia runs.
