“The 100” recap (3.05): Field of Blood

In another room, Jaha tries to prey on Raven’s pain again, both physical and emotional. But she’s still just so. angry. She feels so helpless and useless and ANGRY. He leaves her the chip, saying that she has nothing to lose.

Bellamy drags Clarke around, saying it’s for her own good, but Octavia swoops in to save her.

Wanhedas before bros.

They run, and Abby and Kane are waiting to help them escape. Clarke says the only way to end this is to give Lexa Pike on a pike, and Octavia agrees. The grown-ups are hesitant because that’s not their way. They’ll float someone for stealing a loaf of bread, but if someone is wearing the Chancellor pin, they don’t have to be held accountable for the deaths of 300 innocents. Clarke and Octavia point out that maybe it’s time for new ways. Kane gives Octavia a walkie and some orders, and Clarke follows close behind. Clarke asks Abby to come with her, but Abby has to stay…FOR THEIR PEOPLE. Because they’re Griffins, and it’s what they do.

Down in the Grounder Rounder Uppers, Miller pretends to be staunchly anti-Grounder before slipping Lincoln meds for one of the sick trikru girls and telling him that Octavia is safe, and escaped Arkadia with Clarke.

Clarke returns to Lexa, leaving Octavia keeping watch on the camp. Unfortunately, Indra acts as a dying peanut gallery, so they’re not entirely alone, but still. Lexa asks what is supposed to happen next, and Clarke says that the fate of skaikru is entirely dependent on Lexa.

“Indra, don’t mess this up for me.”

Clarke says flat out that her people fucked up. They are obviously useless twats without her, and they made a big mistake. Big. Huge. So Lexa could wave her hand and wipe out all of Arkadia, and Clarke wouldn’t put it past her. OR, they could take this moment and change things.

Peanut Indra reminds them that blood must have blood, but Clarke says that an eye for an eye makes the whole world dead. She tells Lexa that history has its eyes on her and that she can use this moment to end the cycle of violence. Lexa has already changed things by creating the Coalition, why not be the Commander of Love? HodnesHeda.

Clarke says that Lexa can stop this war between skaikru and the Coalition once and for all.

How could anyone refuse those pleading eyes?

(She also says, “Someone has to take the first step. Let it be you.” Which I hope also applies to their personal relationship.)

Peanut Indra pipes up once again like, “Um, you can’t be considering this.” And Lexa’s not. For a second Clarke’s face is like, “BUT THAT WAS SUCH A GOOD SPEECH.” But Lexa clarifies: She’s not considering it because she’s already made up her mind. She’ll do it. She swore fealty to Clarke. She promised to treat her people as her people. And what sense would it make to have her own people fight each other?

Clarke is so relieved. Indra is sure this won’t work, but Lexa’s like YES HEDA YES MO. They’ll have to listen to her and her new creed: Blood must not have blood.

I better get laid for this.”

I just hope Lexa didn’t just sign her own death warrant.
