“The 100” recap (3.4): Ai Nou Fir Raun (I Am Fearless)

It’s time for the fight, so everyone gathers outside in an arena. (Five! Pick a place to die where it’s high and dry…we’re skipping Four, no doctors needed…)

Clarke shows up in her hood to watch.

She wouldn’t miss this for the world.

Lexa is so glad to see her, and tells her show, her eyes almost smiling with relief that her Wanheda is on her side. (Number Six! Leave a note for your next of kin. And/or speak potentially final words to the woman you love.)

FIGHT FOR YOUR GIRL, HEDA

Lexa draws her sword with enough force to turn a swoon into a full fainting spell. (Seven! Ready for the moment of adrenaline. We’re skipping Number Eight, too. The Commander negotiates with no one.) They start to fight, and goodness gracious is it a beautiful thing to watch. Lexa moves with agility and grace and strength and a fire bigger than seems possible for her little tiny frame. At one point she even grabbed Roan’s blade with her bare hand to regain control, bleeding black all over the place.

On the sidelines, Clarke flinches every time Lexa takes a hit and sighs in relief every time she recovers. It’s hard to watch the woman you love who you haven’t told so yet fight for her life when your face shows every single emotion you feel.

The battle is insane and goes from Lexa having one sword and Roan having a spear to Lexa having no swords and Roan holding the spear over her face. Lexa does her best “terrified girl” act….

“Oh no, please don’t hurt me, sir!”

Giving her just enough time to calculate how to roll out of the spear’s way and knock Roan over. She gets the spear and turns the tables, now holding the spear over the Prince of Ice Nation. (Number Nine, look him in the eye, aim no higher.)

The Ice Queen yells unkindly down at her son, telling him to get up in the way your mother has a way of saying things that makes you want to do the exact opposite. But Lexa says, “Blood must have blood,” and LAUNCHES THE SPEAR at the Queen. (Ten paces, fire!)

Lexa yells that the queen is dead. Long live the king.

Also, they pan to Lexa’s favorite little Nightblood, and he looks hella relieved he doesn’t have to Commander just yet (and/or proud of his predecessor). Everyone cheers wildly for their Heda, sure again that her heart and body show no signs of weakness.
