“The 100” recap (3.4): Ai Nou Fir Raun (I Am Fearless)

OKAY BACK TO THE GOOD STUFF. In Polis, the Great and Powerful Commander is teaching a slew of little Nightbloods what it means to be a good leader.

Getting to knoooow you

Clarke asks Titus if he’s convinced her not to fight, but he hasn’t, and he blames Clarke for calling Lexa’s strength into question. Clarke goes to talk to Lexa herself, but first Lexa wants her to meet the most likely prospect for who the spirit of the Commander will choose if Lexa dies in battle. Little Aiden pledges his loyalty to the 13th clan, so basically Lexa is putting Clarke in her will. Granted, her will is human, but still. Close enough.

“No, seriously, what just happened?”

Lexa tells Clarke not to worry because her people are protected, but Clarke says it’s not just about her people. Clarke doesn’t want Lexa to die, end of story. Lexa gets a little defensive and says that Clarke has never seen her fight, but Clarke says she HAS seen Roan fight, and it was kinda terrifying. Lexa has accepted that she might die today, but Clarke sure as hell will not.

She can’t lose Lexa, not again.

After Queen Nia gives her son a rousing speech and leaves him to train, a hooded Clarke stalks up behind Roan to give him a speech of her own.

“I ain’t afraid of no sword.”

Clarke has an idea: Instead of killing Lexa to become the Commander, wouldn’t he much rather kill his mother and become King? She goads him a little, but Roan says his people would never accept him asking if he killed their queen. BUT, he can help Clarke do it.

I haven’t murdered someone in like DAYS let’s do this.
