“Late Night with Seth Meyers” features a terrifically queer performance from “Fun Home”

The cast of Fun Home took the late night stage last night to perform one of the show’s most lauded songs, “Changing My Major.” The song, performed by Middle Alison (Emily Skeggs) and featuring Joan (Roberta Colindrez) and Big Alison (Beth Malone), is all about Alison’s sexual awakening and subsequent passionate relationship with her first girlfriend, Joan. The show even included the preamble and kisses by the characters, and you can also catch a glimpse of the real Alison Bechdel at the beginning of the clip.

This was the first time Late Night with Seth Meyers has featured a musical theatre performance, and we are so delighted it happened to be from the Tony-winning Fun Home. If you haven’t already seen the show, this performance may just inspire you to plan a trip out to New York.

Fun Home is currently playing at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
