Morning Brew – Dianna Agron to play a tomboyish lesbian in “Hollow in the Land”

Good morning!

ESPN reports that Glory Johnson is “seeking temporary spousal support and attorney fees from Brittney Griner.” Specifically, she’s looking for $20,000 per month, plus a $10,000 advancement toward attorney fees for Johnson’s counsel.” Oy.

ICYMI, Jackie Fuchs of the Runaways has come forward with her harrowing story of being raped by Kim Fowley, the band’s manager. Joan Jett and Cherie Curie have released statements that deny their knowing about it happening and not putting a stop to it. It’s an understatement to say that band has a loaded history.

OITNB star Selenis Leyva is over being congratulated for being a “real woman.” She writes:

Orange Is The New Black and its “groundbreaking” casting is a representation of women in general (FYI, it takes place in a prison and we are bare-faced for the most part, with added imperfections like meth teeth, unibrows and prison attire etc. Nothing glamorous, just real for the stories being told). The show is a hit because outside of the great storytelling, it is a REAL representation of the differences that exist worldwide. Women are white, black, Latina, lesbian, short, fat, skinny, trans, etc. Who dictates what the standard of beauty should be? Beauty is different in various parts of the world. What may be beautiful to one person can be ordinary to another.

A lesbian couple in the UK shares their experience using a sperm donor to have a baby, and then meeting the donor IRL.

Clarke and Lexa’s smooch in The 100 won best kiss at the Best. Ever. TV. Awards. Eliza Taylor accepted the remote trophy while at Comic-Con.

A security guard was alerted to two women kissing while at a food festival in England. Helpful onlookers told the couple they were disgusting and obscene, and that there were children around. As my dad would say, MYOB.

Kat Graham says she has asked for her Vampire Diaries character, Bonnie, to have “discoveries sexually about herself.” I support that. She’s a huge ally and, well, super gorge. But the two new lesbian characters will be Mary-Louise and Nora, “two heretics who met in the year 1900. They are now experiencing for the first time to be open with their relationship.”

Dianna Agron has scored another queer role, so we can continue to worship her properly. The actress has joined the indie drama Hollow In The Land, where Deadline reports she will play “Alison, a tomboyish lesbian who works at a pulp mill. A year after her father was put away for murder, she’s in a troubled state, but her troubles get worse when her brother goes missing. She sets out to find him.”

Out artist Live Hart‘s video for “We Can Change (The World)” will make you feel-good and have a sweet song about love in your head for the rest of the day.

Kristen Stewart is on the cover of Marie Claire this month, where inside, she talks about cutting her hair

“My hair was such a crutch. I looked quote unquote ‘sexy’ no matter what. I could hide behind it. As soon as I didn’t have all that hair, I had to let my face hang out. I felt more confident than I had in a really long time. And it felt really good. Maybe to most people long hair is prettier. But then what? Is your main goal in life to be desired? That is boring as fuck.”
