Morning Brew – A Ugandan lesbian featured on the cover of “Time”

Good morning!

More post-humous lesbian rumors swirl around Whitney Houston, and these ones involve an FBI file.

I’ll be on HuffPost Live today, chatting about The End of Lesbianism. (Do you like how “chatting” makes it seem so casual? IT IS THE END!!!!)

Here’s a look at Season 2 of Survivor’s Remorse and M-Chuck looks like she’s getting herself into some trouble.

A nursery school teacher in London was fired for telling her lesbian coworker that God was not okay with “what she does,” but a tribal council decided she was discriminated against for her religious beliefs. Slippery slope!

UK soap Hollyoaks has a new queer couple in Kim and Grace. (Kim has already been with Esther, but it didn’t work out.) Actress Daisy Wood-Davis says she was happy to be kissing women on screen:

“I’d never played a lesbian before and thought ‘Oh, that will be interesting’. And I knew my boyfriend wouldn’t mind either. He was like ‘You won’t be kissing any guys. And you’ll be kissing girls’. I was really nervous with my first kiss. It’s nerve-racking even if you’re kissing a guy but I think, especially when you don’t know someone and it’s a girl, you’re like ‘So do we kiss now on this rehearsal or do we wait?’ But Jazmine Franks, who plays Esther, was absolutely lovely. And obviously we’ve kissed many more times since then. By the time it came round to all the stuff between Kim and Grace I was already good friends with Tam. My first kiss with Esther worked for the scene. We were both very timid and obviously we didn’t know each other. Grace and Kim are a lot more feisty and more sexual with each other.”

THOSE NAILS!?

Mariel Hemingway has kissed her fair share of women in her acting career. From her role in Personal Best to her turn on Roseanne, to this moment on SNL where she made out with a bunch of the women on the show. I never saw this and am so happy I did today.

Carolyn L. Sherer talked with the Huffington Post about her series Living in Limbo: Lesbian Families in the Deep South.

Samira Wiley and Natasha Lyonne went to Sao Paulo Pride over the weekend and I’m loving Samira’s hat.
