Morning Brew – Libby and Ginny kiss in Season 3 of “Masters of Sex”

Good morning!

If you’re in LA this weekend, meet me at the 2015 Pride Gala & Film Showcase. It’s this Sunday!

Yesterday I shared a video of Whitney Mixter from the Kenneth Cole “Make Now Matter” campaign. Here’s another young woman’s story from the same series.

Robin Roberts will host the opening ceremony for the Special Olympics and she was a part of passing the Flame of Hope yesterday in NYC.

CBS This Morning goes behind-the-scenes with Fun Home‘s Alison Bechdel and Beth Malone.

MAKERS celebrates some of Annie Leibovitz’s best women-focused work.

Gaby Dunn talked about her life on the internet with Paper.

A new music video from Dope has a lot of scenes from the movie and features some singing from Kiersey Clemons.

Ruby Rose is featured in Cosmopolitan this month, where she discusses her gender and sexuality:

“For a long time, I wished I’d been born a boy. I didn’t know there were options like gender neutral or gender fluid. I later realized you could be a girl and dress like a guy…. As soon as I met [my fiancĂ©e] Phoebe, I knew. She’s everything that I would want in somebody. She’s talented, she’s funny, and she also has this charitable, giving side.”

The bad news: There’s no Betty in this new Masters of Sex promo. The good news: Libby and Ginny are in bed together and totally kiss.

Just in time for Pride: “LGBT on HBO” features Dee Rees talking about the queerness of Bessie.

Joan Jett was nervous before receiving her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

In amazing news, Jennifer Kent is adapting Alice + Freda Forever into a film! If you haven’t read this book yet, it’s the true story of a lesbian couple who, well, didn’t end so great.

Tina Fey was part of a Steve Martin tribute in LA last night and here’s one of her jokes from the evening: “Steve donates all his old white suits to lesbian commitment ceremonies.”

Where can I get mine?!

This just in: some gay women play soccer, but not all women who play soccer are gay.

Same thing goes for UFC, and Rounda Rousey wants people to know she’s straight.

“It’s funny when people think that because I’m a female athlete that I must be a lesbian, and I’m like, ‘No, I love men so much that I beat the f*** out of girls for a living just to take them all out!'”

I want to go to Toronto just to see the work of Lesbians Making History. I mean, there are other reasons, but that’s an added bonus.

Ex-girlfriends in Crown Heights, NY got into a violent public brawl on Wednesday night.

It looks like Brittney Griner and Glory Johnson are expecting!
