Morning Brew – Elizabeth Banks to play Billie Jean King in new HBO film

Good morning!

Elizabeth Banks has been cast as Billie Jean King in a new HBO film about the famous tennis match that became known as “The Battle of the Sexes.” Paul Giamatti will play Bobby Riggs, who lost to Billie in 1973. AKA WOMEN WON.

If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend When Billie Beat Bobby, starring Holly Hunter as the out tennis player.

Amy Landecker of Transparent will receive an award on behalf of the show at this year’s Out & Equal Conference.
