Morning Brew – Jane Lynch gets a new show

Good morning!

Jane Lynch has scored her own new show. The out actress has been cast in a CBS pilot called Angel From Hell. From Deadline:

The project, whose format is still TBD, centers on an unlikely pair. When the larger-than-life, brassy and flamboyant Amy (Lynch) enters Allison’s life and claims to be her guardian angel, they form an unlikely friendship, and Allison can’t be sure if Amy is an angel or just nuts.

I love when Jane plays a little cray!

Hannah Hart and Felicia Day are part of a video, #DearMe, where they share messages with their younger selves.

Cherry Jones hearts Helen Mirren.

The Genderton Project is a new web series where every male part will be played by a woman, and every female part will be played by a man. The premise is three interwoven stories:

In 1963, a disaffected housewife considers suicide but instead ends up having a lesbian sexual awakening. In 1996, a young boy is given the gift of a hooker for his bar mitzvah by his own father. Finally, in 2015, that same boy is now a gay man heading for a gay wedding weekend in Palm Springs.

Women’s National Republican Club board member Irene Marmott does not want lesbians to join the group. In other news, Lesbian Republicans exist.

Patricia Arquette has gracefully clarified her comments about LGBT people and people of color needing to help women.

“Everyone should help women. Everyone has a vested interest. Every single lesbian and transgender woman is a woman. Every single woman in the African American community is getting impacted. Every single woman in the Latino community is being impacted. This is having devastating economic consequences across the board […] If people can throw their weight behind women I think it would really help each of these bases.”

A group of gay women were attacked at a recent party in Ghana. A reporter writing on the story notes, “…the youth of Teshie who attacked the ladies have vowed to continue with the attacks until homosexuality is completely eliminated from the area.” Sounds like these youth are bored and hateful. Can we find them something more productive to do?
