Morning Brew – “L Word” actress Patricia Velasquez comes out

Good morning! I ate way too much salt during the Super Bowl and I’m feeling it. I hope you enjoyed the game if you watched!

Tara Clancy tells the story of her wife having her biological baby on Story Collider.

ABC has ordered a pilot from Fortune Feimster‘s new show with Tina Fey. The comedy, called Family Fortune, follows “the family life and stand-up of Feimster, who grew up in Belmont, N.C. … it centers on popular gym teacher in North Carolina (Feimster) who comes out of the closet to her close-knit group of family and friends.”

You may remember Patricia Velasquez as the actress who played “Karina,” aka Jenny Schecter’s Marina character in Les Girls. Or maybe you loved her as Marta in Arrested Development. (I did!) The supermodel/actress is coming out in a new memoir, Straight Walk, and in it, she discusses how in love she was with none other than Sandra Bernhard. This info was supposed to be embargoed until February 10, so I have a feeling the NY Post is going to get scolded but, nonetheless, we’re happy for Patricia and are looking forward to speaking with her about the book.

Not to be outdone, EastEnders star Pam St Clement reveals her own Sapphic relationship in her new book. She said she fell for a woman while her marriage was ending in divorce, and tells the story of “an axe-wielding maniac launched a terrifying homophobic attack on her and a group of friends outside a well-known gay club.”
