Your musical crush Idina Menzel will star in a new Ellen-produced TV show

on

Idina Menzel is a classic triple threat. She can sing, she can act, she can shoot ice crystals out of her hands. Sorry, one of those isn’t true. Her hit Broadway show, If/Then, may be closing on March 22nd, but fans of the multi-talented Menzel have something new to smile about: She is set to star in Happy Time, a brand new half-hour comedy, produced by our fairy god-lesbian, Ellen DeGeneres

Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Pregame Press Conference

According to Deadline

Written by Randi Barnes (Legends Of Oz: Dorothy’s Return), Happy Time is described as a comedy about a woman (Menzel) in the public eye who’s ready to stop pretending she’s so damned happy all the time.

She basically, she’s going to “let it go”? I couldn’t resist. Randi Barnes is an out lesbian writer, which means than not one, but two queer women are running the show. We will let you know more as details become available, but until then, here’s Idina singing her face off! ( And if that’s not enough, you can also catch her singing the singing the National Anthem at the Superbowl this weekend.)
