No, she’s not going to play a contestant on the fabled “MILF Island” – even though she totally qualifies. Instead, actress Salma Hayek will have a recurring role as Elisa, the love interest of boss Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) on NBC’s Emmy Award-winning 30 Rock.
Who had the power to lure Hayek to the nest of The Peacock? The woman that none of us seem to be able to resist: Tina Fey. As part of NBC’s announcement, Hayek said, “I have been a fan of Tina’s talent, both as an actress and a writer, since working with her years ago on SNL. I am so excited to be part of such an intelligent, funny show, as well as working with the brilliant Alec Baldwin and the rest of the cast of 30 Rock.”
The love fest continued when Fey gushed over Hayek: “Salma is smart, funny and gorgeous. I think she will be a great strong presence opposite Jack Donaghy.”

I love Jack’s character as much as the next lesbian, but wouldn’t it be so much more awesome if Elisa were the love interest of Liz Lemon (Fey) instead?
Jack has already enjoyed the company of women played by Edie Falco, Isabella Rossellini and Emily Mortimer. Liz? She’s hooked up with “The Beeper King” (Dean Winters), a “law stylist” (Jason Sudeikis) and a barely legal coffee boy. She needs someone who can keep her on the toes of her bi-curious shoes!
